At Nordic, we seek to expand our community with individuals who exhibit a high level of
commitment: those who not only share our vision of continuous and transformative learning, but
also have a growth mindset and a clear purpose in all their endeavors. With this approach, we seek
to generate a cycle of learning and progress that, in addition to benefiting our students, has a
positive and lasting impact on the community as a whole.
Nordic International School is built on the pillar of commitment. In order to promote a strong culture
that embraces our school values of collaboration, autonomy, well-being and empathy; it is vital that
all members of our community are committed towards a similar purpose and goals.
The promotors, directors and leadership team are committed to form conscious leaders with a
purpose in life, capable of innovating and solving complex problems to contribute to a world with
well-being and equity.
For any company, school or institution to succeed, there must be commitment which in turn requires
trust. All the leaders must believe in the vision, transmit it and be exemplary models of the culture in
order to lead everyone else. Employees also need to show commitment to the philosophy and
culture, and for this to happened there needs to be trust and communication between the
employers and employee.
In order for Nordic International School to be successful, we need to build a culture of commitment.
Our leadership team and our teachers are totally committed to our philosophy of creating, “a
multicultural and bilingual educational community, where each child feels safe and capable of
discovering his or her path to personal development, active citizenship and happiness.”
The commitment of families in the application of these principles is essential to support and
strengthen this educational process. As the main references of our students, they play a key role in
the internalization of the values, attitudes and skills that we promote in school. Their constant
support and active participation in their children’s development allow them to create a coherent and
enriching environment, both at home and at school.
In order for this to happen, there needs to be trust and communication between the school and our
families. To this end it is important that our parents are committed to building a better school for
their children with us.
Our educational proposal aims to develop the following ten competencies in our students:
However, these competencies also need to be developed by teachers and parents too, both at
home and at school. For example, “Healthy Lives” is something that we all need to work towards.
Having a good diet and exercise is essential to have a healthy life. Likewise, “Digital Literacy” is not
just a competency that we need to teach our students, who in many cases are far more advanced
that we are as adults, it is a competency that we need to achieve not just in school but families also
need to work on this at home. It is essential that both school and home, teachers and parents are
aligned in achieving these 10 competencies.
These attributes needed to be both developed both at home and at school. We all need to be in the
same boat and commit together.
